Follow-up to #37 / #38.

What changed

.bb-quotes is two columns again (1fr 1fr), as it was before #38: each photo with its quote beside it, the two quotes side by side. The one-per-row layout was not wanted.

Kept from #38: padding-right: 0.25em on the quote text. Kept from #35: the quotes are justified with no hyphens.

Walkthrough

Story: as the site owner, the homepage quotes are laid out as they were, photo and quote side by side.

The change is the single grid value that #38 altered, restored to its earlier value. The side-by-side layout with this exact stylesheet state (two columns, justified, no hyphens) was driven in a browser on the live site on 2026-10-12 before #38: both quotes in 344px columns, text-align: justify, hyphens: none.

Reference: no reference system applies; this restores the previous layout.

QA Execution

2026-10-12, local: npx tsc --noEmit exit 0; npm run build exit 0.

Not done in this PR

  • The wide word gaps return with this layout (widest about 41px in the first quote), because the text is justified with no hyphens in a narrow column.
  • Not re-driven in a browser on this branch before merge; it is checked on the live site after deploy.

Reverts the one-per-row layout from #38; the two-column layout with the
photo beside each quote is preferred. The quotes stay justified with no
hyphens, and keep the right-hand room for italic line ends.
